Elsie LeMay Hoff, 81, of Eau Claire died Saturday, August 28, 2004, at Luther Hospital. She was born in the town of Sumner, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin on September 7, 1922, the daughter of Elmer and Constance (Olson) Nelson.\r\nBefore marriage she received a two year teaching degree from Eau Claire Teachers' College and taught at the French Creek School in rural Ettrick. She also worked as a teacher's aide at Black School for 17 years.\r\nElsie married Vernon E. Hoff in Osseo on June 16, 1943. \r\nShe was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Elsie was a Christian woman of service to others. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.\r\nShe is survived by husband, Vernon; son, Reider (Eleni) Hoff; daughter; Virginia (Donald) Roszak both of Brookfield; four grandchildren, Kurt Hoff of Waukesha, Kristopher (Nicole) Hoff of West Bend, Chrissa Arazny of Seattle, WA and Jonathan Roszak of New York, NY; a great granddaughter, Aminee Hoff; four step grandchildren, Steven (Melissa )Lenardos of Delafield, Peter Lenardos of Chicago, IL, Kelly Roszak and Kyle (Ginger) Roszak both of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Abigail (Armond) Beguhn and Charlotte (Dale) Hanson both of Eau Claire; brother, James Nelson of Rochester, MN; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Marshall) Osborne of Eau Claire and Evelyn Hoff of Whitehall; nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lloyd Nelson; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Nelson and Ardis Nelson.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 12 (Noon) Wednesday, September 1, 2004, Concordia Lutheran Church, 3715 London Rd., Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Pigeon Creek Lutheran Cemetery in Pigeon Falls, WI. Family and friends may call from 10 to 12 Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family. \r\n
