Elwood "Handy" B. Henderson, 83, of Wabasha, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Wabasha. \r\nElwood was born on June 17, 1928, to Burton and Evelyn (Peterson) Henderson. After he graduated from high school, Elwood joined the United States Coast Guard and served during World War II. \r\nHe is survived by his son Burt; grandson, Brad; and other relatives.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Marta (Hanakam) Henderson; his parents; and a brother, La Moine. \r\nIt was Elwood's wishes that no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Barum Lutheran Cemetery, Elk Mound, WI. \r\nLenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting his family with arrangements.
