Obituary

EMILY E. VAN BAKEL, 19, of 1115 E. Lexington Blvd., died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 15, 1997 after a long struggle with a serious medical condition. She was born November 23, 1977 in Eau Claire to John and Nancy (Fisher) Van Bakel. Emily lived a life of purpose and accomplishment. She knew her Lord at an early age and her faith helped her throughout her life. Her faith was evident to all who knew her. Her Lord was a source of peace and joy. \r\nEmily touched and blessed the lives of many. Her friends and family celebrate her healing as she dwells in her heavenly home-free at last to run and play.\r\nSurvivors include her parents, John of Maple Grove,MN and Nancy of Eau Claire; a sister, Sarah (Brian) Broeckert of Altoona; grandparents, Hubert and Lois Fisher of Menomonie and Leonard and Beryl Van Bakel of Janesville; great-grandfather, R.J. Forehand of River Falls; aunts, uncles, caretakers and friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Olga and Louie Fisher, Elaine Forehand and cousin, Connie Fisher.\r\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests memorials will be directed to World Vision.\r\nNOTHING GOLD CAN STAY\r\nNature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower: But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief,So Dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. Robert Frost
