Emma M. Brownell, 96, of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016. A daughter born to John and Rose (Brion) Anibas in Canton, WI. Emma married Earl Brownell on February 10, 1975 in Eau Claire. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, spending time with family. She was very welcoming and became like a second mother to her nieces, nephews and neighbors. Survived by her sisters, Marie (Bill) Gruber, Iva Knudtson; sisters-in-law, Rilla and Sally. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Also, special friends, Ron and Jo Anne Brownell and her family at St. Frances. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl; parents, John and Rose Anibas; three bothers', John Jr., Raymond, and Lorin, brother-in-law, De Wayne Knudtson. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Chittendon officiating. Visitation will take place on hour before the services. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice in Emma's memory.
