Obituary

Emma C. France, 89, formerly of 815 Chapin St., died Friday, April 19, 1996 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home, Altoona.\r\nShe was born December 30, 1906 in Wausau to Harry and Ruby (Appleton) Witter. In 1926 Emma married John D. France in Wausau.\r\nShe worked as a waitress fifteen years at both the Cameo Room and then at Stafne's Sunset Inn until her retirement in 1978. \r\n Emma was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ.\r\nEmma is survived by a daughter, Sally (Bob) Kinderman of Brooklyn Park, MN, five grandsons, Tony(Shelly)Johnson, Scott(Cindy)Rood, Mike(Carol)France, Dennis France all of Eau Claire and Jim Johnson of Rockford, MN; five granddaughters, Dawn Briggs, Cindy Johnson, Susan Johnson all of Eau Claire, and Joyce Ann(Jim)Ralis of Racine and Randi France of NC; and six great grandchildren. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1961; two sons, Glenn and Jim; a daughter, Kay Graham; three brothers, Lawrence, Earl and Jerry Witter; two sisters, Pearl Derbick and Grace Witter.\r\nPrivate Family Funeral Services were held today at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral with Rev. Robert Goesling of Plymouth United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery.
