Emory G. Wrobel, 84, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.\r\nHe was born in Gilmanton on January 8, 1926, a son of Albert and Margaret (Schultz) Wrobel. \r\nHe married Virgil M. Swanson on March 22, 1952, at East Bennet Valley Church. \r\nEmory served in the U.S. Army from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1952.\r\nEmory worked for Hamm's Brewery for over forty years as a filling machine operator. \r\nHe was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church since 1991. Prior to moving to Eau Claire, he was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson for over forty years. \r\nEmory is survived by his wife, Virgil; a daughter, Roxanne Gavin of River Falls; granddaughter, Stephanie Gavin of Eau Claire; grandson, Scott Gavin of River Falls; one sister, Eileen Rosenow of Eau Claire; one brother, Larry (Alda) Wrobel of Gilmanton; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Halverson and Dorothy (Tilmer) Rustad both of Eau Claire; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Wrobel and Alvin Wrobel; and son-in-law, Michael Gavin. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2010, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven D. Rutter officiating. Burial will be at Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
