Obituary

Erma L. Fletty, 81, of Eau Claire passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Syverson Lutheran Home with her family by her side.\r\nShe was born, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on April 14, 1927, a daughter of Nicholas and Kathryn (Miller) Adler. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1945.\r\nErma married Thomas A. Fletty on October 30, 1948, in Eau Claire. Together they had three children, Mike, Jim and Steve. Tom and Erma lived on Neptune Ave. for more than 45 years.\r\nErma worked as a hairdresser and later as a cosmetology instructor in Eau Claire. Erma and Tom enjoyed many relatives and friends who came to "Flettyville" near Minong, WI, for fishing, hunting, cookouts and good times. They had recently renewed their wedding vows at the Syverson Lutheran Home.\r\nShe is survived by her husband, Thomas; two sons, Michael (Jeanne) and James both of Eau Claire; granddaughter, Jessica Fletty and great grandson, Zachary both of Medford; loving sister, Arlene (Ira) Hering of Eau Claire; nephews, Dan (Peg) Adler, Nick (Beverly) Hering, Ken (Sue) Hering, and Jeff and Mark Adler; nieces, Ravee Adler, Janelle (Robert) Bromeisl and special niece, Kay (George) Parker of Red Wing, MN;brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Margie Adler, Billie Molna, Shirley and Les Weichel, and Elaine Mikesell.\r\nErma was preceded in death by her son, Steve; parents, Kathryn and Nicholas; two brothers, Earl and Norman Adler; and brother-in-law, Ken Mikesell.\r\nA special thanks to the Syverson Lutheran home and their third floor staff, and Toni, Ruth, and Mary, and all of Grace's Garden Staff and residents who were Erma's second family the last three years They are truly special people. A special thanks also to caregivers, Kim Gorton and Emma Hanson who were "the daughters she never had"\r\nFuneral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Debra Boynton officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud- Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
