Ervin Henry Best, age 87, of Elk Mound, died on September 23, 2011, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Eau Claire. Ervin was born on July 25, 1924, to George and Rebecca (Garnett) Best in the town of Brunswick, WI. Ervin married Judith Williams on January 7, 1962, at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. Ervin served our country in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He worked for 38 years at the Brown & Co. Paper Mill in Eau Claire. Ervin was a member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran\r\nChurch since 1973. Ervin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren as they grow. Ervin is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rena Joy (Best) Bennett, George Best, and Willard J. Best. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith; sons, Clifford (Marcie) Best and David (Cindy Hanson) Best; grandchildren, Trevor Best and Nathan Best; and Kami Hanson-Best and Noah Hanson-Best; along with many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011, at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, 6118 County Hwy M, Elk Mound WI, 54739, with Pastor Hal A. Schroetter officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the West Chapel of Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will be in Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #53. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
