Ervin Charles Gaulke, 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2006, at his home in Eau Claire with his loving wife present. Erv was born to Marie K. (Shear) and Ervin A. Gaulke in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on April 8, 1943. He graduated from Altoona High School and entered the U.S. Marines in 1961. In 1964 he was married to Margaret Tilley. He married Patricia K. (Couzzins) Brickner on February 16, 1970, in Elk Point, South Dakota.\r\nErv was thankful to be an over the road trucker because he always said he was lucky to see and enjoy the wonders that God made for us across the countryside; sights that most people take for granted. He worked for Dart Transport for over 15 years achieving the Hall of Fame Award. He spent the last seven years with Marten Transport. \r\nAmong Erv's many hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping and model railroading. He was a proud lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia; three sons, Charles of Weyuawega, Robert (Julie) of Green Bay and Erin (Shari) of Mondovi; three daughters, Linda (Reynolds) Honold of Milwaukee, Susan Cathey of Richland, Washington, and Barbara (Dennis) Earnest of Livingston, Montana; Thirteen grandchildren that he loved dearly, Samantha (Michael) Khazzam, Jared and Tyler Cathey, Amanda and Wysteria Bristol, Krista (Kurt) Bodily, Cody Earnest, Cameron Gaulke, Brianna, Jordan, Kayla Gaulke, Jamison and Abigail Gaulke; two great granddaughters, Alexandra and Isabella Khazzam; also an honorary granddaughter from Germany, Julia Richter; a nephew, Michael Miland; and a sister, Ida Miland of Eau Claire. He will also be missed by his dog, Sally.\r\nErv was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23 from 5 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Brunswick Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by American Legion, Post #53. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Marshfield Cancer Center at Sacred Heart Hospital, 900 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
