Obituary

ERVIN L. "BUD" GREUEL, 75, of 3343 Westover Lane, died Monday, May 18, 1998 at Luther Hospital. He was born on April 9, 1923 to Erwin and Helen (Jaeger) Greuel in Menomonie. Ervin graduated from Menomonie High School in 1941 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1948.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Air Force during W.W.II with the 380th Bomb Group A.A.F. (Flying Circus) in the South Pacific where he piloted missions in the B-24 Bomber as a Lieutenant. Ervin retired from the Air force Reserve as a Lt.Col., in April of 1983. Ervin was a sales executive for 30 years with Employers Mutual of Wausau, retiring in 1984.\r\nHe was a member of Christ Church Cathedral; Menomonie Lodge #164 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire where he was the Thrice Potent Master of the Eau Claire Lodge of Perfection in 1969, Zor Shrine Temple of Madison and the Mehara Shrine Club of Eau Claire; and a member of the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.\r\nSurvivors include his wife of 51 years, Jo Ann; two daughters, Mary (David) Robertson of Bloomington, MN, Sarah (George) Layton of Bali, Indonesia; a son, John (Sue) Greuel of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (fiancee, Kristin Nemec) Robertson, Gregory and John Robertson, Colby Layton, and Justin and Jessica Greuel; and a brother, Jerry (Doris) Greuel of Tallahassee, FL.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nMemorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at Christ Church Cathedral with The Very Rev. H. Scott Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Menomonie. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home. \r\nThe family requests that memorials please be directed to Christ Church Cathedral, 510 So.
