Esther B. Moholt, 96, of 2425 14th St., died Thursday, September 26, 1996 at the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born September 3, 1900 in Oslo, Norway to Christen and Ingeborg (Andersen) Dahl. Esther's father died when she three years old and her mother later married Peder Rasmussen who adopted her. In 1909 she moved with her family to Wheeler, WI. Her given birth name was Astrid but that was changed to Esther upon their arrival in the United States. After her marriage to E. Ongle Moholt in Colfax on November 12, 1921 they made their home in Eau Claire. Esther worked as a bookkeeper at Owen Lee Lumber Co., for Eau Claire County and Automotive Distributing Co., prior to her retirement.\r\nShe was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the National Tooth Pick Holder Collectors' Society.\r\nSurvivors include a son, Peter A. (Marlys) Moholt of Montgomery Village, MD; two daughters, Lucille Multerer of Hartford,WI and Alice (M.James) Medin of Bella Vista,AR; nine grandchildren, Frank and Robert Multerer, Laura Spitzer, John, Karin and Anne Medin, Mark and Eric Moholt and Amy Hickey; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Ongle in 1969; a son, Robert; and a brother, Egil Rasmussen.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Barbara A. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library.
