Esther G. Olson, 89, of Eau Claire died Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born in Leeds, North Dakota on December 9, 1917, the daughter of George and Emma (Larson) Wold.\r\nEsther married Helmer T. Olson in June of 1972, in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was the first waitress hired at Wagner's Bowling Alley when it opened, and was head waitress there until her retirement in 1957.\r\nShe was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire.\r\nEsther is survived by her husband, Helmer; two sons, Robert Stanton of rural Eau Claire and David (Bonnie) Stanton of Rock Falls; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; her brother, Gordon Wold of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nEsther was a great Mom and loved her boys!\r\nShe was preceded in death by a son, Daryl Stanton, three sisters, Oreen Migawa, Alta Marczinke and Fern Yarnell; and two brothers, Spencer and Roger Wold.\r\nMemorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Paul D.L. Oppedahl officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\n
