Esther P. Johnson, 93, of Bloomington, MN and formerly of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. She was born in Augusta, Wisconsin, on June 8, 1911, the daughter of J. Frank and Pauline (Gessner) Clark. She graduated from Augusta High School with the class of 1928 and went on to get her teacher's certificate from Eau Claire Normal School.\r\nEsther married Wooderd "Woody" G. Johnson on January 2, 1930, in Winona, Minnesota. \r\nShe worked as a sales lady for 50 years with Stanley Home Products doing presentations in area homes. During WWII, she worked at U.S. Rubber Company in Eau Claire.\r\nEsther was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church; she was twice president of the Ladies Aide and also belonged to the Friendship Club. Esther and Woody were leaders in Congregational Drives.\r\nSurvivors include her children, Dean (Marlys) of Farmington, MN and Joan (Paul) Greguson of Bloomington, MN; six grand children, Deborah (Edward) Spiel, Coral (Mark) Pierson, Marcus Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Elizabeth (Bruce) Greguson Puppe and Cathy (Brian) Magnuson; six great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Clark and Wilma Struck, both of Eau Claire and Elizabeth Clark of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Malin, Paul, Franklin, and William; and five sisters, Susan Senske, Lily Herrell, Eva Wheaton, Irene Erdman, and Carrie Erdman.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2004, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nEsther's family requests memorials are directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 202 West Grand Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\n
