Obituary

ETHEL L. DAVIS, 90, died Sunday, January 24, 1999 at the Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born February 16, 1908 in Eau Claire to John and Caroline (Pederson) Bowman. Ethel married Morris Davis in St. Paul, MN, on January 5, 1927. She worked many years as a tire builder and then in housekeeping at Uniroyal Tire Co. until her retirement.\r\nShe was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the choir and Lutheran Church Women. She was also active in the Eagles Auxiliary and served as president of that organization.\r\nSurvivors include a sister, Emma Bowman, of Eau Claire, four nephews, John, Jim (Jean) and Clifford (Joyce) Bowman all of Eau Claire, and George (Barbara) Bowman of Roberts; two nieces, Mary Bowman Kuhn of Eau Claire and Ellen (Paul) Smith of Chippewa Falls; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Morris; six brothers, Elmer, Algot, Clarence, Chester, George, and Clifford; and a sister, Eleanor Nelson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David K. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services, Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family. The family requests that memorials be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
