Ethel C. Kochendorfer, 88, of Eau Claire died Sunday, September 16, 2007, at Luther Hospital. She was born November 23, 1918 to Ingebrigt and Anna (Sunaas) Krigsvold in Eau Claire. Anna passed away at the time of her birth.\r\nEthel married Robert C. Kochendorfer on April 29, 1972 in Eau Claire at First Lutheran Church. He died on July 26, 1997.\r\nShe was a member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nEthel was an active member of the L.E. Phillips Senior Center, where she especially enjoyed being a part of the line dancing group and many other activities. She also loved taking organ lessons at Schmidt Music in Eau Claire. She was a familiar sight on the west side of town with her three-wheel bike and her fishing pole heading to Half Moon Lake or the Chippewa River. \r\nEthel is survived by her two sisters, her twin, Evelyn Krigsvold and Sylvia (Gerald) Lee; sister-in-law, Evelyn "Evie" Rhude Krigsvold; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her mother; her father; her step-mother, Mary (Froseth) Krigsvold; her husband, Robert; four brothers, Alvin, Ralph, Einar and Marvin; an infant sister, Clara; and two sisters-in-law, Florence and Minnie.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Amy Odgren officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nMemorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703. All gifts will be directed to the church taxi service which Ethel used often.\r\n
