Obituary

Ethel P. Mittelstadt, 91, formerly of 633 Cochrane St., Eau Claire, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital.\r\nEthel was born in Marshall, MN on September 4, 1914, the daughter of Walter and Jenny (Ackerman) Dodds.\r\nShe grew up in Grantsburg, WI and moved to Eau Claire where she met and married Ross E. Mittelstadt on March 11, 1936. Ethel was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where she volunteered her time with Triniteam and other various church activities. \r\nFrom the time they were married, Ethel enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens at their home on Vine Street. Both Ethel and Ross enjoyed fishing and relaxing at their cottage in Chetek where they also owned and operated Chetek Outlet. \r\nShe is survived by her son, Ronald (Gloria) Mittelstadt; a daughter, Nancy (Clifton) Sorenson both of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Connie (J. Scott) Fowler of Omaha, NE, Cathy Mittelstadt of Aloha, OR, U.S. Army Warrant Officer Jason (Stacie) Sorenson of Hinesville, GA, and Kristin (Corey) Kurtz of Oregon, WI; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Nerbonne of MI, and many nieces and nephews.\r\nEthel was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, in 1982; four infant sons; a grandson, Bradley Sorenson; three sisters; and one brother.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\n
