ETHEL C. THORN, 95, of 639 Churchill St., died Thursday, June 4, 1998 at M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on January 28, 1903 in the town of Wheaton, Chippewa County, to Charlie and Julia (LaFoss) Anderson. Ethel married Kenneth E. Thorn in Eau Claire on May 24, 1923. \r\nPlymouth Congregational United Church of Christ over her many years, was her church home where she was a member of Friendship Circle, the "Happy Hour Club" and many other activities.\r\nSurvivors include her son, Norman Thorn of Eau Claire; two daughters, Emily (David) Holm of DeForest,WI, and Gloria (Vernon) Janke of DeKalb,IL; six grandchildren, Thomas (Connie) Holm, Holly (Alan) Rubinstein, George (Mary) Janke, Julie (Jim) Krueger, Susan (Richard) Lynch and Kristal (Brent) Coffie; four great-grandsons; a sister, Martha Toy; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1961; two brothers, Carl and Fred Anderson; and a sister, Effie Olson.\r\nHer children are most appreciative for the kindness and care given to Ethel by her nieces and nephews and the staff at the nursing home.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Chris W. Myers officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
