EUGENE A. MYERS, age 75, of 1130 Florence Ave., died Wednesday, April 8, 1998 at Luther Hospital. He was born on April 29, 1922 in Dunn County near Elk Mound and graduated from Colfax High School with the class of 1942. Eugene married Jewel I. Sylte on September 14, 1946 in Eau Claire. He was a local meat cutter, employed at Peter's Meats, and retired as President of U.F.C.W. International Union in 1979. He had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1946.\r\nEugene is survived by his loving family, his wife, Jewel; two daughters, Marn (Bill Barnette) of Farmington Hills, MI., and Trudy (Steve)Torok of Cottage Grove, MN.; a son, Brad Myers of Fresno, CA.; four grandchildren, Tim and Luke Barnette, Suzanne and Melissa Torok; two aunts, Marvella Robertson, of Eau Claire and Etta (Erwin) Wiseman of Menomonie; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Myers Strobl in 1996; and an infant brother, Donald. \r\nEugene loved making conversation with others and will be especially remembered for his great sense of humor. \r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Grace Lutheran Church; American Diabetes Association, 2949 N.
