Obituary

EVANGELINE DOROTHY DEAN, 78, of 613 Putnam St., Eau Claire died Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at her home. She was born on November 5, 1920, to Paul and Linda (Pape) Lehrke in the town of Pigeon, Trempealeau County.\r\nEvangeline married William B. Dean in Whitehall, WI on November 11, 1939. They farmed in the town of Hale and then moved to Eau Claire in 1960. Evangeline was employed in housekeeping at Holiday Inn until her retirement in 1982.\r\nEvangeline was a member of First Lutheran Church. She loved to spend time with her family, singing and watching church services on her TV. She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her birds.\r\nSurvivors include two sons, William Jr., Spooner, and Dennis (Janet), Kenosha; four daughters, Eva (Gene) Rebarchek, of Whitehall, Diane (Jim) Skutley, of Fall Creek, Peggy (Rick) Geroux, and Patti (Jerry) Hoehn both of Eau Claire; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Harold) Cornell of Kenosha.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in 1998; a granddaughter, Heidi; a grandson, Steven; and a brother, Marvin Lehrke.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Diane B. Tetrault officiating. Burial will be in Wagner Cemetery in the town of Hale, Trempealeau County. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
