Evelyn "Tootsie" L. Christenson, 69, of Eau Claire, passed away Friday April 3, 2009, at home, surrounded by her family. \r\nEvelyn was born February 20, 1940, to Ralph and Minnie Henning the third oldest of six children. She attended Regis High School and later earned her LPN degree at District One Technical Institute (now CVTC).\r\nOn October 6, 1956, Evelyn married Francis O. Christenson and began their 50 plus years together.\r\nAfter 22 years as an LPN, she retired from the 9th floor at Sacred Heart Hospital in 2002. \r\nShe is survived by her husband, Fran; three sons, Corey (Barb), Roland, Ernest (Nancy); three daughters, Laura (Mitch) Bevans, Joy Christenson, and Rochelle (Brian) Stenseth; her mother, Minnie; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.\r\nEvelyn was preceded in death by her father, Ralph.\r\nMemorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital Chapel with Father John A. Schultz and Monsignor Edmund Klimek concelebrating the Mass. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home where there will be a 6 p.m. public Prayer Vigil service. \r\nMemorials are preferred to the Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center or The Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital, both located at 900 W. Clairemont Ave. Eau Claire, WI 54701.\r\nThe family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Muslim, and his staff at Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center, the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
