EVELYN A. HOLM, 87, formerly of the Albertville area died Monday, October 14, 1996 at the Area Nursing Home, Colfax. She was born on May 13, 1909 to Anton and Mathilda (Gilberts) Solberg in the Town of Howard, Chippewa Co.\r\nEvelyn married Melvin Holm in Elk Mound on November 20, 1936. They farmed in the Town of Howard until Melvin's death in 1969. She was a member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include three daughters, Leona (Eugene) Huff, White Bear Lake,MN, Greta Shafer, Hudson, and Karen (Thomas) Berkner, Amherst,NH; four sons, Daniel (Peggy) and Steven both of Elk Mound, James (Sherry) of Hudson and Duaine (Kris) of Eau Claire; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Valborg Sneen, St. Paul,MN; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Sylvia; a great grandson; three brothers and four sisters.\r\nEvelyn was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Omar C. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
