Obituary

Evelyn B. Krenz, 88, of Altoona, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Oak Gardens Assisted Living in Altoona. She was born in Eau Claire on October 21, 1922, the daughter of Robert and Lottie May (Kline) Bushendorf.\r\nEvelyn was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church.\r\nEvelyn worked at National Pressure Cooker (now called National Presto Industries). While working at National Pressure Cooker, she met her future husband. Evelyn married Julius R. Krenz on October 26, 1946, in Eau Claire. \r\nTogether, they enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, and world-wide traveling. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her great-granddaughters, the joys of her life.\r\nEvelyn is survived by daughter, Brenda (Chris) Peterson of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Shannon (Steve) Vargo of Menomonie, Jake Van Vleet of Eau Claire and Jackson Bowen of Illinois; two great-granddaughters, Sullivan Rose Vargo and Brooke Olivia Van Vleet; one sister, Lorraine (Roy) Campbell of Chippewa Falls, and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; daughter, Judy Krenz; and parents.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. \r\nMemorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 2519 N. Hillcrest Pkwy.
