EVELYN D. LAURSEN, 84, of 1625 Fairway Street died Wednesday, August 01, 2001 in Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire on September 15, 1916, the daughter of Ernest and Hilda (Swanson) Myers. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1934. \r\nEvelyn married Elmer C. Laursen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on September 24, 1939. \r\nShe worked as a secretary at Briggs Transportation for many years, and was a receptionist for Bertelson Company for over 15 years, until her retirement in 1989.\r\nShe was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a 50 year member of Eau Claire Chapter No. 126 Order of The Eastern Star.\r\nSurvivors include her two daughters, Joyce (James) Clark of Eau Claire and Janet Anderson of Richfield, MN; three grandchildren, Michael (Claudia) Clark of Cadott, Carolyn Clark of Shoreview, MN, and Susan (Mark) Jordan of Parker, CO; two great granddaughters, Caitlin and Megan Jordan; two sisters, Pearl Kohls and Helen (Wayne) Larson, both of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law, Ted Laursen of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Myers, also of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1976; and two brothers, George and Clarence.\r\nEvelyn adored her great granddaughters who were the light of her life.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. August 4, 2001 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David K. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
