Evelyn E. Nemitz, age 91, of Eau Claire, died peacefully on October 23, 2012, at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls, WI. Evelyn was born in Eau Claire on April 29, 1921, to Victor and Lydia (Lamb) Miller. Evelyn graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1939. She attended Nurses Training in Everette WA and received her Clinical Laboratory Registry. She met Harry F. Nemitz in October of 1946, and they were later married on June 28, 1947, at St. Patrick's Church, Eau Claire. Evelyn enjoyed knitting and crocheting items for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as quilting and sewing. She and Harry spent many hours on his woodworking projects. She enjoyed gardening and reading historical books along with spiritual books. Evelyn volunteered at the Food Pantry, and donated her handcrafted projects to the church bazaars'. Evelyn very much enjoyed watching the deer, turkey, small birds, and especially enjoyed feeding and watching the chipmunks outside their home in Eau Claire. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry in February of 2012; son, Michael; siblings, Marjorie, Joseph, and Gerald; daughter-in-law, Jean Nemitz; and son-in-law, Glen Quinn. Evelyn is survived by her three children, Patricia Quinn of Winona MN, Joan (Tom) Lahy of Oregon WI and Russell of Eau Claire; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor (Richard) Durica; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL, 1405 North Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire, with Father Brian Konopa officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Home Health & Hospice, Eau Claire.
