Evelyn F. Skoug, 91, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire. She was born on April 7, 1921, in Emden, IL to Ricus and Margaret Wiekert. After moving to Eau Claire, Evelyn joined First Lutheran Church. She remained a member there for over 60 years, and was very active with the various women's activities. On May 18, 1974, she married Roger Skoug at First Lutheran Church. She was a masterful seamstress and loved making clothes for her children, grandchildren, and their toy dolls. In her later years she enjoyed gardening, following her grandchildren's activities, and watching sporting events and camping with Roger. She was an avid sports fan, keeping up with the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers. One of her fondest memories was her trip to Norway. Evelyn is survived by her children, Sherry (Bob) Kellen of Stockton, CA, Maggie (Mike) Stalka of Winona, MN, Joyce (Dave) Running of Eau Claire, and Rick (Barb) Vehlow of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Laura, Andrew, Mitch, and Katie; sister, Dottie Snyder of Rockford, IL; and Roger's children, Rod and Jerry Skoug both of Eau Claire, and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; and 2 sisters. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012, at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave. Eau Claire, with Pastors Lowell Halvorson and Michael Rehok officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. The family would like to thank the staff at Oakwood Villa and Mayo Hospital for their compassionate care for Evelyn.
