Florence L. Kunz, 79, of La Crosse and formerly of Eau Claire, died Monday, August 16, 2010, at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Center in La Crosse.\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on March 22, 1931, the daughter of Olaf and Joyce (Zhe) Bahr.\r\nFlorence married Charles F. Kunz at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire on June 14, 1952.\r\nFlorence and Charles were owners of Chuck's Union Grocery on Putnam Street which they operated from 1955 to 1986.\r\nShe was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Eau Claire. Florence was also a member of the Immaculata Society.\r\nFollowing retirement Florence and Charles enjoyed traveling and gatherings with their family. \r\nFlorence is survived by her six children, Father David Kunz of Independence, Jean (Richard) Leinenkugel of Menomonee Falls, Thomas Kunz of La Crosse, Cindy (Kenneth) Bergeson of Florence, MT, Suzanne Bourgeois of Williston, VT, and Jacqueline Kunz of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Katie and Lindsay Leinenkugel, Lee Bergeson, Cole and CJ Bourgeois, Mahdie and Ali Al-Habarneh; three brothers, Harold, Harlow, and Harlan; and two sisters, Helen Conway and Sharon Thiel.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 2005; two sisters, Dorothy Powers and Millie Black; and a brother, John Bahr.\r\nMass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father Eugene Klink and Father David C. Kunz officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
