Florence L. Nelson, 91, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Syverson Nursing Home. She was born in Osseo, Wisconsin on October 8, 1916, the daughter of Ray and Jenny (Duerkop) Zhe. She graduated from Osseo High School with the class of 1934.\r\nFlorence married Harvey N. Nelson on June 28, 1940, in Osseo.\r\nThey owned and operated Nelson's Market in Hixton, WI, over 33 years until their retirement.\r\nShe was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe participated for many years in women's golf league at Lowes Creek Golf Course and ended the day playing cards with her golfing friends.\r\nThroughout her life Florence loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Thane. \r\nFlorence is survived by her son, Steven (Mary Caldwell) Nelson of Altoona; grandson, Thane Nelson of St. Paul, MN; sister-in-law, June Gehring of Eleva; nephews and nieces including Dudley (Karla) Zhe of River Falls; Barbara (John) Deutscher of Menomonie and Susan (Dennis) Knudson of Strum.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey in 1995; and her brother, Orville Zhe.\r\nHer family extends their appreciation to her special care givers, Marlys Hugdahl, Karen Gordhammer, and Sue Wright. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\n
