FLORENCE J. TWEED, 80, of 527 Chippewa St., and formerly of LaCrosse and Lansing, IA, died Friday, April 11, 1997 at The Clairemont. She was born July 20, 1916 in Eau Claire to Nils and Jenny (Johnson) Norheim. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1934 and received her teaching certificate from Eau Claire Teachers College. Florence married Merlin G. Tweed in the Town of Unity, Trempealeau Cty, on May 23, 1941. They lived in LaCrosse until 1969 when they moved to Lansing,IA. Florence and Merlin moved to Eau Claire in 1987, several years after his retirement. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Merlin; two sons, John (Jo) of Winter Park,CO, and Thomas (Hannelore) of Gig Harbor,WA; four grandsons, Andy and Ben of Gig Harbor,WA, Matt and Josh of Winter Park,CO. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray, Vic and Bjarne Norheim; and two sisters, Myrtle Westley and June Enerson.\r\nMemorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeanne L. Warner officiating. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.
