FLOYD D. "TARNIE" KRAUSE, 76, 2615 Fairfax St., Eau Claire, died Monday,March 24, 1997 at Luther Hospital. He was born May 5, 1920 to Louis and Anna (Parker) Krause in Eau Claire. Floyd attended Eau Claire schools. After graduating from Eau Claire Senior High School, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and servedduring W.W.II, stationed in Okinawa with the 8th Air Force. While in the service,"Tarnie" played football with the 8th Air Force, and later with the Chippewa Marines.\r\nHe married Eileen Blum and later married Winifred Meier-Johnson. Floyd workedat National Presto and Uniroyal, retiring from Uniroyal in 1981. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. \r\nHe was an avid fisherman and guided sportsmen on the Chippewa Flowage. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting. In the past, he enjoyed ice skating, and softball(fast-pitch).Tarnie was President of the Eau Claire Figure Skating Club and a manager of men and women's softball teams. He enjoyed working with young people and coached YMCA football.Tarnie was a #1 Green Bay Packer fan! \r\nSurvivors include his wife Winifred; daughters, Cheryl (William) Watson, Eau Claire, Rebecca (Roger) Cardinal, Chippewa Falls; step-son Ronald (Betty) Johnson, Eau Claire; and step-daughter Judith (Gerald) Kneer, Eau Claire; grandchildren, Kenneth Olson, David (Cindie)Olson, Michael and Jonathan Watson ; and step-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jay Johnson, Mary (Mark) Wendt, Ann (Scott) Wathke, Tom (Lori) Kneer; and step-greatgrandchildren, Joshua Wathke, Alexis Wendt , Emily Kneer; nieces, Sally (Roger) Johnson and Ann (Charley) Mencel.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eileen, brother Clarence and sister Florence Ginder.\r\nFuneral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rev. Dr.Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.\r\nFriends may call 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. \r\nFamily suggests memorials may be directed to White Pine Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Fall Creek, or to First Lutheran Church.\r\nTarnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; he will be dearly missed by all.
