FRANCES S. BRIAN, 91, of 816 Porter Ave., and formerly of 1426 Emery St., Eau Claire, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born in the town of Clear Creek near Strum, on December 27, 1906 to Louis and Ragna (Gilberg) Olsen. Frances married Benhard "Ben" Brian on November 15, 1924 in Strum. Frances worked at Uniroyal for twenty-five years until her retirement.\r\nShe had been an active member of First Lutheran Church. Frances had a special interest in history, (especially Wisconsin) and traveling in the U.S. and abroad.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Arline (Dr. Harlan) Petersburg of Brighton, MI and Judith (Pastor Emil) Evenson of Eau Claire; two granddaughters, Kim McCulloch of Vacaville, CA., and Karen Dennis of Farmington, N.M.; fivegrandsons, Brian Petersburg of Brighton, MI., Gregory Petersburg of Grand Junction,CO., Mark and Phillip Evenson, both of Eau Claire, and Kristian Evenson of Wausau; and thirteen great-grandchildren.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989, her son, Vernon Brian in 1993; and a brother, Chester Olsen.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.\r\nThe family suggests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church..
