Frances I. Christopherson, 92, of the town of Elk Mound, Dunn County died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born in Ivanhoe Township, Renville County, North Dakota on June 19, 1913, the daughter of Myron P. and Ida (Gjerness) Johnson.\r\nShe graduated from Trinity Hospital School of Nursing, at Minot, ND in 1935. Frances worked as a public health nurse for Dunn County. In her neighborhood in Elk Mound Township she was known as the on call nurse attending births and sitting with the dying, and everything imaginable in between.\r\nFrances married Loyd W. Christopherson in Seattle, WA, on June 1, 1940.\r\nShe was a volunteer for many years with the American Cancer Society, and American Red Cross from whom she received recognition for 65 years of volunteer service.\r\nFrances is survived by her daughter, Sally (Robert) Zimmerman of Minnetonka, MN; stepson, Alan Christopherson of the town of Elk Mound; two grandsons, Todd Zimmerman of Madison and Ethan Zimmerman of Burnsville, MN; a sister, Mae Vansickel of Parkville, MD; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd in 1972; a brother, Myron Johnson Jr.; and two sisters, Neoma McKenzie and Marion Smith.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Robert L. Koepp officiating. Burial will be in Barum Cemetery,town of Elk Mound. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the American Red Cross, 218 N.
