FRANCES SAPETTA, 92, of 2705 State St., joined the Lord Thursday, May 13, 1999. She was born October 1, 1906 to Stanley and Jadwiga (Terlikowski) Nicoski in Stanley. Frances was raised in Superior where she graduated from high school. She married Felix Sapetta of Owen on May 14, 1930 and they lived there until moving to Eau Claire in 1951. \r\nFrances was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of Veterans of World War I, Eau Claire Barracks, where she was President of the local unit since 1976; she was also Department President and Secretary for the Tenth District. On the National level, Frances was Historian for the Auxiliary, President of Past Department President's Club, President of the Western Conference, Chairman of Pages and personal Page for the National President in 1985. She did volunteer work at Sacred Heart Hospital, and St. Bede Priory.\r\nFrances enjoyed her time with family at their lake cottage where she enjoyed fishing and hunting. An avid deer hunter she got her most recent deer at the age of 91.\r\nSurviving are a daughter, Leona (Zeke) Ziegenbein of Eau Claire; a son, Lee (Kathi) Sapetta of Ham Lake, MN; three granddaughters, Tammy Ziegenbein of Plymouth,MN, Sherrie (Gregg) Knapp of Eau Claire, and Kimberlee Sapetta of Ham Lake, MN; two great-grandchildren, Spencer and Katie Knapp; a sister-in-law Frances (Odlevak) Nicoski of Superior; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.\r\nPreceding her in death were her husband Felix in 1975; three brothers, Tony, Joseph, and Stanley Jr,; and four sisters, Julia, Stella Karling, Marie Kenbok, and Rose Kresky and their spouses. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father John W. Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior to services Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home. There will be a public Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. \r\nHer family suggests memorials be directed to St. Bede Priory.
