Frances J. Wegrzyn (nee Szceczniak) 85, of Eau Claire and formerly of Chicago died at home on Thursday, February 5, 2004 surrounded by her family. She was born June 3, 1918 in Chicago, the daughter of Albert and Rosalie (Kozak) Szczesniak. Frances married Casey Wegrzyn on August 3, 1946 in Chicago.\r\nAs well as being a homemaker most of her life, she worked for Motorola until her retirement in 1984. After moving to Eau Claire, she was a member of St. Olaf'sParish.\r\nShe will be sadly missed by her children, Diane Boglitsch and Paul Wegrzyn; granddaughter, Sharon Besterfeldt (Brian) Bessinger all of Eau Claire; grandson, Richard Arens of Elk Grove Village, IL and Richard's father John (Terri) Arens of Arlington Heights, IL; two nephews, John (Anne) Howaniec of Des Plaines, IL and Robert Filas; a niece, Rosemarie (George) Robbins of Niles, IL; and her beloved "poochie" Snuffy.\r\nFrances was preceded in death by her husband, Casey in 1987; her daughter, Patricia Arens; son-in-law, James Boglitsch; four sisters Ann, Marge, Marion, Helen; and her brother, Stanley.\r\nFrances was a strong woman who survived many losses. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was joy to all who met and knew her.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2004 at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL with Father Theodore Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL. Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.).
