Frances E. Wright, 92, of Eau Claire died Monday, May 3, 2004 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born February 18, 1912 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Jacob and Roseabell (McCann) Abel. \r\nFrances married Gene C. Wright on February 18, 1936 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.\r\nShe was a teacher and principal at Little Red Elementary School for several years and retired from teaching at Central Junior High School in Eau Claire. \r\nFrances enjoyed fishing and boating at their cottage on the Chippewa River. She also enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.\r\nSurvivors include her son, James (Rosemary) of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Suzanne (Mark) Becker of Eau Claire and Tim Wright of Mankato, MN; step-grandchild, Angie (Troy) Braaten of Eau Claire; five great grandchildren, Samantha and Sarah Becker, Jamie and Alec Wright and Alex Braaten; two sisters, Jeanne Isom of Chippewa Falls and Isabelle Owens of San Francisco, California.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene in 1990; granddaughter, Carolyn Burg and her infant daughter, Kennedy Burg; seven brothers and sisters.\r\nFrances was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Frederick C. Sauder officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
