Fred R. Anderson passed away due to cancer, surrounded by his family, on February 14th, 2016 at the age of 82. Fred was born in Eau Claire, on November 13, 1933. He was raised on the family farm, in Chippewa County, Town of Wheaton, attended Longview grade school, and was an Elk Mound High School graduate in the class of 1952. Fred met the love of his life, and married Helene (Froseth) on December 5, 1953, at Our Saviors Lutheran church in Eau Claire. Together they worked the farm, milking cows, raising crops, and children. He was a proud father of four sons and loved spending time with them. The "icing on the cake" was being a grandfather, and in his most recent years becoming a great-grandfather. Fred is survived by his wife, Helene, four sons, Kelwin (Nancy) of Bloomer, Marvin (Roxie), Wayne (Sue), Brian (Kriss). Grandchildren: Nicholas Anderson, Kelsey Anderson (Trinia), Mitchell Anderson, Kayla Rick (Matthew), Alex Anderson (Hannah), Luke Anderson, Jenna Anderson, & Andrew Anderson. Great-grandchildren: Taylar Anderson, Dylan Anderson, Adalina Rick, Isabella Anderson, & Madalyn Anderson. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Oas and Charlotte Otto, and many nieces, nephews, Fred's career was dairy farming, but he was a man who wore many hats. He was formerly the Wheaton's Town Chairman for over 20 years, and currently was serving on that board as Supervisor. His dedication to the Town of Wheaton was evident as he worked to better the community. He was instrumental in the development of the Chippewa FPD. He served as a volunteer fireman since 1977. He was active on a bowling league for over 50 years, which he was still participating in. Fred also enjoyed neighborhood card parties, hunting, fishing, lefse making, attending church and serving as usher, and traveling. Above all, Fred loved sharing jokes, stories, and even magic tricks with everyone. He had a unique sense of humor and just loved to have fun. Other enjoyments included, feeding the birds, watching football, visiting neighbors on his new scooter, and Friday night fish fry, even Lutefisk. After retirement, Fred never slowed down. He stayed active in all his duties and hobbies, plus he was always available to help his sons with field work, wood hauling, cement work, driving skid steer, and wherever he was needed. In his free time, he loved playing with his dog, Benji. He enjoyed making breakfast for his wife of 62 years, and helping her in the garden. Fred Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Reva (Kenney) Anderson, brother James Anderson, sister Margaret Slusher and grandson Aaron Anderson.
