Obituary

Fred R. Brenden, 65, of Eau Claire died as a result of congestive heart failure Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at his home. He was born on February 8, 1937 in Eau Claire to Marshall and Helga (Rone) Brenden.\r\nHe received his elementary education from the Campus School and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1955. He earned an undergraduate degree from UW-Eau Claire in 1959.\r\nFred worked at several local businesses including Texaco Inc., and owned Farley Oil Company in Chippewa Falls. He recently retired from Brackett Ave. Garage.\r\nFred married Mary Keilholz on June 26, 1973 in the chapel at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, Mark; daughter, Kristine, all of Eau Claire; brother, John (Sylvia) of Madison; sister-in-law, Fay (Glen) Howe of Elk Mound; an uncle, Harold Rone of Pigeon Falls; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. \r\nFred was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nHe was a life-long Badger and Packer fan, and attended games for many years. \r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with burial in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
