Fred Gee, age 86, died June 18, 2024. He was born in Black River Falls, WI, on August 19, 1937, the son of George and Laura (Simonson) Gee. Fred attended Jackson High School in Hixton, WI, graduating in 1955. He would also go on to graduate from Chippewa Valley Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Fred enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1956 to 1976. He was stationed in Texas, Oklahoma, Germany, England, Thailand, and Madison, WI. Fred was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. After retiring from the Air Force, Fred worked at Uniroyal Tire Co. until the plant closed in 1992. He worked for the State of Wisconsin, retiring in 2001. After retiring, Fred drove school bus for the Eau Claire Area School District, and also worked as a playground supervisor at Longfellow Elementary School. He served as a volunteer for many years. Fred married Lorraine Larson on June 9, 1961, in Nashua, IA. They raised three children, Barbara (Roger) Panyk, Scott (Corrina) Gee, and Andrew Gee. Fred is survived by his daughter, Barbara, sons, Scott and Andrew; three grandchildren, Cari (Nate) Nispel, Devon Whaley, and Eli Gee; four great-grandchildren, Jaedon Nispel, Ivan Nispel, Camryn Kingswan, and Carson Kittelson; three sisters, Donna (Freddie) Dolesy, Carol (Peter) Peasley, and Laura Gonia, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, his parents, sister, Gloria, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law. A memorial service for Fred will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire with Pastor Brian Quade officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment for both Fred and Lorraine will be at the Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Cemetery in Northfield, WI with full military honors. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services are handling the funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be left for Fred's family at www.lenmarkfh.com.
