G. DONALD EASTERSON, 83, S10651 County Rd. W, Town of Pleasant Valley, died peacefully Friday, August 28, 1998 at his home on the farm where his grandfather homesteaded. Don was born there on September 2, 1914 to Andrew and Tilda (Nelson) Easterson. He married Phyllis Chambers on May 1, 1941 in Eau Claire. \r\nDon farmed with his father in the town of Pleasant Valley until 1972. During the Depression in the 1930's, he worked at the Paper Mill and National Presto. He was employed as a custodian for the Eau Claire Board of Education from 1968 until his retirement in 1978.\r\nHe was a member of Drammen Lutheran Church. Don loved sports, the outdoors, gardening, fishing, and time spent with his family.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Fay (DeWayne) Stillman of Arcadia, Joan (Dale) Welke and Diane Easterson, both of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Debra (Scott) Heath, Daniel (Penny) Welke, Denise (Brian) Becker, and Mark (Kristen) Stillman, all of the Eau Claire area; and seven greatgrandchildren. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Drammen Lutheran Church with Pastor William Wendt officiating. Burial will be in Drammen Lutheran Church Cemetery in the town of Drammen. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Drammen Lutheran Church.
