Gary W. Corwin, 52, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at his home. He was born in Eau Claire on September 23, 1952, the son of George and Colleen Corwin.\r\nHe entered the U.S. Army on May 19, 1971, and served until his honorable discharge on March 26, 1973.\r\nGary married Jeanne L. Wiersgalla in Eau Claire at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on November 4, 1978. \r\nHe graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1969 and then attended UW-Stout. He was a truck driver with Earle M. Jorgensen Trucking Company.\r\nGary cherished riding his Harley. He was commonly known as "the Road Captain." Besides, his great love of riding he enjoyed sharing his love of camping, NASCAR, the Packers and listening to the Blues with his very dear friends. We will truly miss our "Road Captain."\r\nGary is survived by his wife, Jeanne; parents, Colleen and Patrick Bates, and George Corwin all of Eau Claire; two brothers, Jeffrey (Nancy) Corwin of Eau Claire, and Sean (Anita) Bates of Minneapolis; four sisters, Erin (Jean-Paul) Ameline of Paris France, Patricia McGhee of Atlantic Beach, FL, Cynthia (Rick) Brown of Sunnyvale, CA, and Margaret (Tom) Higley of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Edward (Stephanie) Wiersgalla of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Wayne) Fischer of Spooner and Judith (Stephen) Schilling of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews\r\nHe was preceded in death by a nephew, Bryan Higley; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arlene and Paul Wiersgalla.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2005, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Joe Bernardy officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Following graveside services friends are invited to join the family at the Finish Line.
