Obituary

Gary W. Koger, 56, of 2221 Fifth Street, Eau Claire died Monday, December 23, 2002 surrounded by his loved ones at his home. He fought a very courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born in Eau Claire on December 6, 1946, the son of Leo and Dorothy (Tompkins) Koger. \r\nHe married Linda L. Hofer on March 29, 1980 in Anoka, Minnesota.\r\nGary worked in construction at Allied Blacktop until his disability retirement. He was involved in a partnership of snowplowing for many businesses and residents throughout Eau Claire. Gary enjoyed working for Country Jam of Eau Claire watering their roads for many years, as well as doing automobile bodywork for family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include his father, Leo Koger Sr. of Eau Claire; his wife, Linda; three daughters, Laura (Mike) Steinke and their children Jarica Le and Reegan of Eau Claire, Shannon (Jeff) Wilczek and children Tanner and LaKiah of Chippewa Falls and Tosha Lunderville and her child Jaden of Boyceville; son, Brandon (special friend Katie LaRose) of Eau Claire; two brothers, Leo (Cookie) Koger Jr. and Mike Koger; two sisters, Donna (Richard) Heimstead and Sandy Fischer all of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Koger; and sister, Diane Weissinger.\r\nFuneral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday December 27, 2002, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
