Gaylord "Gish" G. Sell, 80, of Eau Claire died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Woodland Cottage in Eau Claire. He was born in the town of Washington, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, on August 18, 1923, the son of Gustav and Jeannette (Froelich) Sell. \r\nGaylord married Elaine E. Leland in Altoona on October 29, 1955. They farmed in the town of Washington until 1999 when he retired due to illness. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Elaine; daughter Trudy (Randall) Horlacher and grandson, Jared Horlacher of Cadott; four sisters-in-law Arlene Christ, Joanne Christ and Louise (James) Nyre all of Eau Claire, and Judy (Richard) Sires of South St. Paul, MN; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Robert.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hwy 93 and County HH, with Rev. Dennis L. Voss officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, PO Box 8044, Eau Claire, WI 54702 or Woodland Cottage, 3214 Gala St., Eau Claire, WI 54703, whose program assisted Gish to gently release this life and his family to accept this death process with dignity and love.
