George N. Jacobson, 77, of 1210 Barron Street died Saturday, February 24, 1996 at Abbot-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis,MN. He was born June 6, 1918 in Eau Claire to John and Sarah (Peeso) Jacobson. George graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1937. He married Eunice Qahl in Eau Claire on October 20, 1942. George married Ione Bjerke on March 10, 1964 in Stillwater, MN. In 1979 he retired from Uniroyal after 41 years of service. George was an avid fisherman and as a football fan he never wanted to miss a game.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Ione; a son, Steve (Karen) Jacobson of Eau Claire; two daughters, Connie(Ron) Lund of Eau Claire and Sue (Phil) Fabry of Lakevilla, IL; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Douglas (Janet) Bjerke of Eau Claire, David (Vickie) Bjerke of Apple Valley, MN; two stepdaughters, Dona (Ed) Macknik of Eau Claire, Doreen (Bill) Howie of Chippewa Falls; thirteen step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jo Anne (AL) Mickels ; a aunt, Beatrice McCraken and a sister-in-law, Gwen Jacobson of all of Eau Claire;a son-in-law, Gus Strehlo of Wausau; many nieces and nephews.\r\nGeorge was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debbie Strehlo; an infant grandchild and two brothers, Herman and Francis.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Parish with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call 4:30 to 8 P.M. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home.
