Obituary

George J. Weber, 83, of Eau Claire died Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Clairemont Nursing Home. He was born on May 8, 1922, in Eau Galle, Wisconsin the son of Michael and Johanna (Bauer) Weber. \r\nGeorge married Jean A. Hartung on February 1, 1944, in Eau Galle, Wisconsin. \r\nAfter farming for three years, he, along with his partner, Carl Biskey, owned and operated Weber and Biskey Lumber Company in Fall Creek, Greenwood, and Merrillan, Yard 4 Supper Club in Eau Claire, and the Fall Creek Laundromat. George and his brother Galen also owned Weber's Bar in Fall Creek and the Wayside bar between Fall Creek and Augusta. He worked 15 years at Menards until retiring in 1987. \r\nHe was a member of the Catholic Knights. George loved his family gatherings and enjoyed playing cards at Ole's Southside Tavern, family sing-a-longs and old time music.\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Mary Roycraft, of Fall Creek; two grandchildren, Tim (Shannon) Roycraft and Kelly (Donald) Woodford, both of Fall Creek; six great grandchildren, Chenoa and Montana Roycraft, and Carrie, Rose, Rebecca, and Nathan Woodford; two great-great grandchildren, Kaylee and Chandra Olson; brother, Leonard (Lorraine) Weber of Eau Galle; sister, Arvilla Tietz of Eau Claire; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.\r\nGeorge was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry; five brothers, Phillip, Lawrence, Raymond, Galen, and Francis; and four sisters, Lucy, Marie, Lorraine, and Delores.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Church, with Father Eugene A. Klink officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. A public prayer vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.\r\n \r\n
