Obituary

Gerald R. "Sarge" Christianson, 70, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at his home. He was born in the Blair-Ettrick area on September 22, 1936, the son of Gunnar and Charlotte (Williams) Christianson.\r\nJerry attended high school in Gale/Ettrick where he was president of his senior class and graduated in 1954.\r\nFollowing his graduation from high school, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country from 1956 to 1976. He had been stationed in Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Delaware, England, Vietnam, California, and Goose Bay, Labrador. After retiring from the Air Force, Jerry worked at Uniroyal where he retired once again after 15 years when the plant closed in 1991. He then worked with Tender Care Transport for 5 years and then Lehman Drug for 7 years and finally for a life of leisure in 1999.\r\nHe married Linda L. Brazeau on May 22, 1982.\r\nJerry enjoyed a life of camping, fishing, and hunting with family and very close friends. Jerry touched many people with his loving, caring ways and was also noted for his story telling and all the laughs that followed.\r\nHe was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and VFW Post #7232.\r\nJerry is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Todd (Pam) Christianson of Appleton and Glenn (Robbin) Christianson of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Kelly Christianson of Eau Claire; two stepsons, Travis (Teresa) Brazeau of Hallie and Greg (Pam) Brazeau of Elk Creek; a step daughter, Tonja Brazeau of Hope Mills, NC; nine grandchildren, Sharlyn&Jolyn Christianson, Jesse Christianson, Andrew Brazeau, Dalton&Jolie Brazeau, Katriana and Karli Parr, and Jayden Derke; a brother, Donald (Betty) Christianson of Holman; a sister, Virginia Slaby of Whitehall; and many loving nieces and nephews as well as many loving, close friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Francis, and Leslie Christianson; and two sisters, Harriet Lawrence and Tootie Larson.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2007, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David K. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside honors. Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\n
