Gerald F. Conley, 71, of Eau Claire, died peacefully with his wife by his side, Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.\r\nHe was born on May 21, 1939, in Eau Claire, a son of George and Katherine (Shiels) Conley. \r\nGerald married Beverly Teigen on October 25, 1965. They were happily married until Beverly passed away in 2001. Gerald married Deborah Sherwood in a private ceremony on March 17, 2003, in Laughlin, Nevada.\r\nHe served in the United States Air Force from August 1958 until his honorable discharge in January 1962.\r\nGerald worked for Uniroyal in the lab for 25 years. He also owned The Corner Inn Tavern (Inflation Fighter) in Eau Claire for over 44 years. He will be remembered as "Jolly Jerry". Jerry always enjoyed a good card game with his friends. \r\nGerald was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.\r\nGerald is survived by his wife, Deborah; son Joseph (Kathy) Conley of Spencer; two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Stanton of Altoona, and Vicki Conley of Altoona; a brother James (Sandy) Conley of Eau Claire; and grandchildren, Tony and Teddy Conley of Spencer and Tyler, Brent and Devin Stanton of Altoona. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; two brothers, John and Robert Conley; and a sister, Jean Sola. \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire where American Legion Post #53 will present military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the friendly staff at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and service. \r\nJerry will be dearly missed by his family, friends and his therapy dod, Daisy.
