Obituary

Gerald "Gerry" Klohs, 71, formerly of 225 Mansfield Street, Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Dove Healthcare. He was born in Eau Claire on April 24, 1931, the son of Robert "Otto" and Edith (Quick) Klohs. Gerry attended Altoona High School.\r\nHe served in the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force from July 1952 until March 1954. Gerry retired from Uniroyal as a Data Programmer after 36 years.\r\nHe enjoyed spending time at his trailer on the Chippewa Flowage with family and friends. Gerry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He was a member of Bever American Legion Post #550 of Brackett.\r\nGerry is survived by his son, Jon (Kathy) of Eau Claire; two daughters, Jeri of Tomah and Joni (Mark) Zich of Fall Creek; four grandchildren, Jason and Kevin Klohs and Justin and Tyrel Zich; and two nephews, Michael and Steven Velie.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lorraine Pierce.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003 at Lake Street United Methodist Church with Reverend David W. Blackmer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery where Bever American Legion Post #550 will conduct military graveside rights. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
