Gerald Theiler Tubbs, 91, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 19th, 2012. Jerry was born February 3rd, 1921, in Humbird, Wisconsin. He moved to Eau Claire with his family and graduated from Eau Claire High School. He married Lenore Retallick, his wife of 65 years, shortly before enlisting in the United States Navy where he served as a Signalman 2nd Class in World War II. Following his military service he had a successful career, ultimately holding the position of Eau Claire City Assessor. Outside of work, he enjoyed many years of playing and watching, both, baseball and golf as well as reading, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerry is survived by son, John Crowson; daughter-in-law Mary (Bob) Fiene; grandchildren, Brian (Melinda) Fiene, Trisha (Patrick) Dalton, Jon (Ginny) Crowson, Doug Crowson and Frank (Sarah) Crowson; brothers-in-law, Don Johnson and Sam (Alice) Retallick; 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lena Tubbs; wife, Lenore Tubbs; sister, Wilma Johnson; sister-in-law, Jane Retallick; and brother-in-law, Harold (Lois) Retallick Jerry will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, whose patience and generosity were admired by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29th, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 2010 Moholt Dr. in Eau Claire, with Rev. David Stratton officiating. Visitation will be held at the church immediately prior to funeral services from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services is serving his family.
