Geraldine "Gerry" S. Willett, 94, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at her home. \r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on November 10. 1915, the only child of Charles A. and Rose M. (Schneider) Koll.\r\nGeraldine attended Willow Grove School in the Town of Union. She went to the Business College in Eau Claire.\r\nGeraldine married Robert "Bob" F. Willett on July 6, 1940, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe loved to travel and visited all 50 states, the Virgin Islands, Ireland, Jerusalem, Europe and had special memories of her trip to Rome.\r\nGeraldine enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. \r\nShe was a charter member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church, a member of St. Elizabeth's church group, and Eau Claire Catholic Woman's Club.\r\nGeraldine is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Gerald) Olson of Eau Claire; son, Charles (Kathryn) Willett of Manhattan Beach, CA; six grandchildren who called her "Granny", Scott (Brenda) Olson of Ely, MN, Renee (Darell) Liming and Lisa (John) Ausman both of Eau Claire, Aaron and Ryan Willett both of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Kristen (Kris) Lem of Redondo Beach, CA; ten great-grandchildren, Joshua (Erin) Ausman, Jacob Ausman, Rebecca, Rachel and Sarah Liming, Isaac, Jesse, Solomon, and Elijah Olson, and Kolin Lem; nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1996; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois and Humphrey Gilbert. \r\nHer family acknowledges her dear friends, Kathleen, Shirley, Charles, Joe and Marion, Bev, Jo Ann, Jo, and Kristi, and wishes to thank the wonderful people at Oakwood Hills Gracious Retirement Living for all the assistance they provided to Geraldine.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church.
