Gerhardt A. Klawiter, 79, of 730 Broadway Street died Tuesday, August, 13, 1996 at Luther Hospital. He was born in Eau Claire on September 5, 1916 to Albert and Mary (Schneider) Klawiter. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1935. On May 12, 1940 Gerhardt married Marion I. Garlie at Grace Lutheran Church. He retired form the shipping department at Uniroyal in 1982 after 40 years of service. Gerhardt was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Marion; three sons, James (Romaine), Gary (Cora) and Douglas (Jill) Klawiter all of Eau Claire; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Martha) and Robert Klawiter both of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Klawiter of Eau Claire and Grace Madden of Chippewa Falls.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Mark; two brothers, Wally and Kenneth.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Obert I. Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery, Town of Washington. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
