Germaine "Gerrie"A. Olson, 86, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Dove Healthcare where she resided for the last three years. \r\nShe was born in Trempealeau County on May 15, 1924, the daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Emerson) Gilbertson.\r\nGermaine married Donald O. Olson on February 27, 1946, in Ettrick. The enjoyed 57 years of marriage before Don's death in 2003 \r\nGerrie and Don enjoyed their home on Brookline Avenue, especially the beautiful lawn and flowers they cared for together. There was always a chair at the kitchen table for family and friends to stop by for a cup of coffee and a sweet of some kind. Gerrie was active in her church overseeing many church function dinners.\r\nShe is survived by two daughters, Susan (Lloyd) Fleig of Altoona and Connie (Harlan) Loken of Hollis, NH; grandsons and great grandsons, Jeffrey (Robin) Fleig and Isaac of Onalaska, and Jason and Jaydon Fleig of Hastings, MN. She is further survived by her brother, Russell Gilbertson of Arcadia and several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Mavis Strand and Rhoda Johnson Isbell.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St., Eau Claire with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Tamarack Lutheran Cemetery in Arcadia. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to services Thursday at the church. Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral&Cremation Services is serving her family.
